Graphite was the medium I grew up with and I have always maintained my artistic foundations in drawing. Recently, I have been inexorably drawn to watercolor, and its lustrous and transparent qualities. It is a medium I have come to love since returning to this craft three years ago.
My artistic pursuits have always been grounded in figurative work and I rather enjoy creating faithful representations of the subjects I paint and draw. As an emerging artist, I find myself interested in subjects that can be brilliantly expressed in watercolor: illuminated glass, sunlit seascapes, water and other reflective and transparent objects that allow this wonderful medium to shine.
